Bonjour!
This is a short post to say happy Memorial Day! I hope you had a nice holiday weekend and were able to relax and enjoy. I also want to thank you for following Joie de Vivre and supporting my writing. I appreciate you!
This morning, I considered this quotation from William Henry Channing, a clergyman and reformer in the 1800s: “To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common — this is my symphony.”

It’s been a long and tough year for everyone around the world and you deserve a little break. Have you had a chance to think about what makes you feel elegant, refined, worthy, and wealthy? It’s never too late to start over and start fresh. Be well and take care!
How did celebrate the holiday? What is your symphony?
Merci for reading and please subscribe and share!
À votre santé,
Katie

Great quote, Katie! Plugging along this weekend on the campaign for justice that never ends. Always nicer to do that with the sun shining thru the window.
