Joyful Living

Joyful Living Has a New Look!

Bonjour!

Dear reader, I am excited to share my blog’s new name and look with you. After months of pondering and weeks of tinkering (why is the internet so hard? le sigh), I finally landed on a new design and esthétique for Joyful Living. I’ve wanted to update my blog for a long time and am so pleased my summer project is at last complete!

The hound is giving L’Husband the hairy eyeball

After four years of writing, I felt like my blog was ready for a refresh. I changed the name from Joie de Vivre (French for “joy in living”) to Joyful Living to make my mission and writing more clear and accessible.

I designed a logo myself on Canva (fancy me!) and updated the site’s colors and navigation for a more updated look and feel. And I finally updated my profile and other site identity pictures, which were from 2016!!

Despite these changes, I remain ever committed to writing about seeking pleasure and joy in everyday life. The blog is a fun creative outlet for me and way to share my passion for French language and culture, baking and cooking, entertaining and decorating, and fighting the good fight against the Big Maternity industrial complex. To name but a few interests (le wink).

Though my most popular post this far is about how to make Orangina at home.

Updating the blog was a fun, if long, process. I merely moonlight as a web designer and writer, and tinkering with the site’s settings for colors, fonts, images, tags, page layouts, et cetera took longer than I expected or wanted it to. But the tenacious (*cough* obsessive *cough*) librarian-lawyer in me persevered, figured it out, and came out the other side with new knowledge and a new outlook.

Now the hound is giving his toy the hairy eyeball

So please check out Joyful Living’s new color scheme and fonts (sweet, sweet fonts!!!), as well as updated About and Mission Statement pages. My pages for Parenting and Dachshunds are still alive and kicking, so be sure to visit for coverage ma famille’s exploits. And if Travel and Food are your thing, those pages are there for your reading pleasure too!

Enjoy! I’m happy you’re here and hope you keep in touch!

What would you like to refresh and recharge this year?

Merci for reading and please subscribe and share!

À votre santé,

Katie
