Bonjour!
This post celebrates Joie de Vivre’s first anniversary. I started this blog one year ago this week, just shy of my 35th birthday.
To celebrate, Joie de Vivre has a fresh look. I updated some style, design, and layout elements and created dedicated pages for food, travel, joyful living, and work. I’m also experimenting with a new homepage. Please let me know what you think!

One year ago, if you had told me I would move to Vermont; prepare for, take, and pass the Vermont bar exam; and have over 100 followers on Joie de Vivre, I wouldn’t have believed you. And if you told me the world would be in the throes of a devastating pandemic, I really wouldn’t have believed you.

It’s been quite a year. What do I do I do to help? I donate to local charities like the food bank. I shop at local businesses to keep my tax dollars in my community. I volunteer at my church. I check on my friends and family. And I write about things I like to share some joy and positivity.
Modern life often overwhelms me, so Joie de Vivre focuses on simple pleasures and joyful living every day. I like food, travelling, and home, so I write about travel tips, gluten-free and low-FODMAP recipes, baking, moving into a new house, and helping others. I write what I know.

I also love keeping in touch with my friends and colleagues and supporting other women, so I launched How I Work. This series focuses on how women around the world are working during the pandemic. Participants from Alabama to Amsterdam to Australia, and beyond, generously shared their personal experiences and insights. I can’t thank them enough.
Thank you so much for reading! Your support makes Joie de Vivre special, meaningful, and worthwhile.

And now, a dachshund.

Merci for reading and please subscribe and share!
À votre santé,
Katie
