Road Trip with Baby – Packing List

Just a sampling of the baby toys and gear for our two-day road trip to Wisconsin!

Bonjour!

As I wrote recently, L’Husband and I finally took our first family trip with Le Bébé. We rented a house and spent two whole nights in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Find my tips and gentle suggestions for traveling with baby here!

As I’ve mentioned before, I love to travel and enjoy planning trips, organizing what I need to take, and sharing what I’ve learned about the process over the years. Check out my top two travel tips and my Ultimate Packing List!

Relaxing in Wisconsin, but make it fashion

🧸 Packing List for a Tiny Human

“He who would travel happily must travel light.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

This inspirational quotation about traveling light may work for a college student hostel hoping through Europe (that lucky duck!) but does not work for people with babies, absolument pas. Us new parents simply pack light when traveling en famille. Even for a two-day car trip.

And so, the short list for traveling avec bébé: Bring everything you own.

LOL. My real long packing list for traveling avec bébé is below. Also bring enough ensembles: the same number outfits for the number of days traveling + at least one spare:

FeedingBottles, Plates, Spoons, Formula, Purées, Snacks, Smock Bib, Bibs, Burp Cloths, Storage Containers, Wipes
DiaperingDiapers, Overnight Diapers, Wipes, Diaper Cream, Powder, Disposal Bags
SleepingPacifiers, Pajamas, Familiar Blanket or Sleep Sack, Lovey, Nightlight, Sound Machine, Baby Monitor
Toiletries & MedicineToothpaste and Toothbrush, Comb, Lotion, Tylenol, Gas Drops, Cortisone Cream, Chest Rub
EntertainmentFoldable Play Mat, Select Favorite Toys, New Toy, Familiar Books
LuggageIndividual Totes for Clothes, Diapering, Toys, Food, Etc. (to distribute in kitchen, living space, bedroom, etc.)

If you are traveling again, godspeed. And if you are traveling with a baby, double godspeed with Tylenol.

What do you always pack when you travel?

Merci for reading and please subscribe and share!

À votre santé,

Katie

  1. I am so pleased that you were able to enjoy a two week family vacation. A great opportunity to make many happy memories. A trip like that requires lots of planning and car space for all of the necessary “stuff”. Thanks for sharing, Sent with love. Gil
