On the Tenth Day of Katiemas, I Decorated with All the Snoopies

Bonjour!

Part of getting into the holiday spirit for me is decorating the home. The bright colors and twinkly lights help relieve the doldrum-inducing gray of winter. We have multiple Christmas trees, lights and candles, and knickknacks ranging from Santas to snowmen to forest animals. And we have Snoopies. All the Snoopies.

💙 I Am the Original Snoopy Fanatic

I am an OG Snoopy enthusiast, well before his recent newfound fame on TikTok or whatever the hell it is young people Z do these days. (Dear god, I sound old. Le sigh.)

My Christmas Snoopy collection dates to at least my middle school days, back in the good old Nineties, when we gave each other chocolate Whitman samplers at various holidays and they actually came with a toy or stuffed animal. I don’t have many remembrances from my greasier, younger years, but I do have my Christmas Snoopies. These are family heirlooms that I will surely bequeath to my one and only heir (lucky him!).

🎄 Christmas Decorations for the Nursery

Indeed, Le Bébé also gets to partake of the festive Snoopy fun this holiday season. I put a small, pre-lit Christmas tree in his nursery with a Peanuts tree skirt hand-sewn by my mother as well as some other kid-friendly Christmas friends, from Snoopy to Baby Yoda.

And, in case you were worried, fear not: the nursery was already decorated with Snoopy to begin with. Like I told you, dear reader, I am the OG Snoopy lover. Take that, Gen Z (le wink)!

🎁 Katiemas Continues

For the Tenth Day of Katiemas, part of my dedication to embracing the holidays more this year through the Twelve Days of Katiemas, I plan to:

Deliver homemade peppermint bark.

Plan my accoutrements and ensembles for Christmas weekend.

Queue up Christmas Story (1983) – “You’ll shoot your eye out!”

Take a nap to hopefully banish a tension headache, now in its fourth day.

Previous Katiemas activities have included:

• Eating a bag of marshmallows,
• Enjoying a Taylor Swift Christmas sugar cookie, and
• Entering my Auntie Mame era.
